About

Trust should be based on proof. Not appearances.

The Problem

A convincing face is no longer proof of a real person. A photographed passport isn’t necessarily evidence of identity. And knowing someone’s identity doesn’t necessarily tell you whether you can trust them.

Artificial intelligence is changing what it means to trust the person, or increasingly the technology, on the other side of a digital interaction.

The Solution

But technology is also giving us better answers.

Veritage was founded to bring those answers into everyday use. To help organisations establish who they’re dealing with, determine what they need to know, and have confidence in the evidence behind their decisions.

Our mission is to make the digital world safer for genuine people, while making it harder for fraudsters to exploit it.

Know what matters. Nothing more.

Our philosophy is simple: establish what needs to be trusted, gather the evidence to support it, and ask for nothing more.

We believe trust and privacy should reinforce each other, not compete.

  • A bank needs to know who its customers are, who owns the businesses it serves, and whether those relationships present a risk.
  • An online retailer may only need to know that a customer is over 18.
  • An online community may need assurance that someone is a real human being, without needing to know their name.

These are fundamentally different questions. They shouldn’t all require the same intrusive identity check.

THE NEXT CHALLENGE

From identity to authority

Knowing who you’re dealing with matters. Knowing whether they have the authority to act matters just as much.

Acting on your behalf

An AI agent needs more than its own digital identity. It must show it genuinely represents you, and that you’ve authorised it to act.

Bounded by role

When an agent represents a business, its permissions depend on a person’s role, their authority in the organisation and what they can delegate.

Verifiable, not asserted

Authority should be specific, limited, revocable and traceable to the person or organisation responsible for granting it.

Built on cryptography

Verifiable credentials, coupled with robust authentication and authorisation, will become essential foundations for trust in an autonomous digital economy.

HUMAN-TRUST TECHNOLOGIES

Trust that proves itself

We’re building for a world where identity no longer depends on photographing documents and asking AI if they look genuine.

Our mission is to make the digital world safer for genuine people, while making it harder for fraudsters to exploit it.

Credentials that prove themselves

Authentic credentials verify cryptographically, and the provenance of identity evidence matters as much as its appearance.
